The World Day Against Trafficking in Persons 2025 was commemorated with a seminar held under the theme: “Human Trafficking as an Organized Crime – End the Exploitation.” The event took place on the 30th of July 2025, and brought together participants from diverse backgrounds including civil society Organizations like ARREF, Help the Children, FAJEFIM, Law enforcement officer, Men and Women of God, and community members.
The seminar officially commenced at 10:00 AM with an opening prayer, followed by a round of introductions to familiarize participants with one another. The diversity of attendees enriched the discussions and highlighted the shared responsibility in combating trafficking in persons.
The welcome remarks were delivered by Ms. Awah Francisca Mbuli, Founding Executive Director of Survivors’ Network (SN) Cameroon. She emphasized on the importance of raising awareness on human trafficking as a global organized crime, and reaffirmed our organization’s commitment to prevention, protection, and the promotion of survivor-led initiatives.

An engaging Question and Answer session allowed participants to clarify concerns, share perspectives, and suggest community-driven solutions to counter human trafficking.
The event concluded with a prayer and light refreshments and informal networking among attendees, fostering connections for future collaboration.
The seminar served as a platform for education, dialogue, and advocacy, reminding all present that ending human trafficking requires a united front against the criminal networks behind it. The event closed on a hopeful note, with participants expressing renewed commitment to protect the vulnerable and advocate for justice.
