We are a passionate group of women from Cameroon, Ghana, (other countries) who seek to empower other women in the fight against human trafficking. We are mothers, sisters, daughters, community leaders and advocates.
SURVIVORS' NETWORK (SN), CAMEROON, is a non-profit lay apolitical organization, made up of Female Survivors of Human Trafficking and Modern Day Slavery.
Survivors’ Network has the following objectives:
• Rescuing of modern day slaves from slavery;
• Sensitization campaigns against human trafficking and modern day slavery;
• Reintegration of the survivors of modern day slavery and human trafficking into their societies.
As of now SN has been doing a lot of work which entails rescuing of 28 ladies from the Middle Eastern countries of Kuwait and Lebanon to their respective African Countries; 12 ladies to Cameroon, 12 ladies to Ghana, 2 ladies to Senegal and 2 ladies to Nigeria.
We have carried out several sensitization campaigns at the level of CNN, Canal2 Douala, CRTV Monday show and Hello program. We have also visited many rural areas and villages in the South West Region of Cameroon.
We have provided vocational training to write business proposals and have started to give seed capital to survivors to start small businesses. As
of now we have 50 business plans from these women and have sponsored 19 projects and hope to do all and more if we have financial assistance.
